Tommy gears up to do a photoshoot with his newfound boyfriend, Greg, who is a model. This excites Tommy, who has never been in a relationship this intriguing for a while now. Meanwhile, Josh and Arnold are having a great time in Geelong, however, Arnold's parents have scheduled a wedding celebration for one of Joshua's ex-girlfriend. Arnold is excited to show off Josh as his new boyfriend for the first time in front of his family and friends.
Back in the city, Alan struggles with depression and becomes increasingly worried about the pressure to make friends in his new job. He tries to open up and make some connections at work, but things don't go as planned. Later, he ends up going on a solo night out that doesn’t turn out so well.
Later at the photo shoot, Tommy feels threatened by the attention that his boyfriend Greg is getting from the photographers and stylist who is trying to make him look like the model he is. Tommy's insecurities get the better of him, and he confronts Greg about his behavior who later confesses that he’s only doing it to impress him. The two make up, and Tommy ends up holding a party with champagne for his friends.
On the other end, Josh and Arnold attend the wedding celebrations, and Arnold introduces Josh to his family and friends. Arnold's family packs a punch for Josh, who is bombarded with unexpected and sometimes unusual guests, causing him to feel overwhelmed. The newly mixed couple tries to navigate through the day's activities, from awkward conversations with Arnold's ex-girlfriend to witnessing some wild moments of Arnold's childhood. In all, Josh tries to find his place in Arnold's life, not only in his his social circles but also in his family and community.
Champagne highlights the nerves, anxieties, and reactions that influence new relationships, big events, and new experiences. It is an episode that shows the power of friendship and connections, even when it seems tough, and reminds us to always embrace new opportunities in our lives.
