Uncle is a British television sitcom that originally aired on BBC Three from 2012 to 2017. The show follows the life of a failed musician named Andy who is forced to take care of his nephew, Errol, after his sister, Sam, goes through a messy divorce and leaves London to start a new life.

Throughout the three seasons, viewers are taken on an eccentric and chaotic journey as Andy tries his best to be a good uncle while balancing his own personal struggles. The show is a coming-of-age story, not just for 12-year-old Errol, but also for 30-something Andy who has spent his whole life trying to make it as a musician.

Although the circumstances of taking care of Errol may seem like a burden to Andy at first, he quickly develops a bond with the boy, and the two become inseparable, despite Andy's unconventional parenting style. Because of his own immaturity and lack of responsibility, Andy is not always the most reliable person, and he often finds himself in sticky situations that he struggles to get out of.

Along the way, Andy is joined by his quirky group of friends that include his best friend, the lovable and naive mechanic, Bruce; his ex-girlfriend-turned-friend, the intelligent and level-headed Sam; and his eccentric and outspoken landlady, Val. Together, they navigate the ups and downs of life, love, and family, resulting in some of the most hilarious and heartwarming moments of the show.

One of the defining characteristics of Uncle is its dark humor. The show explores some heavy themes, such as divorce, abandonment, and mental illness, but it does so in a way that is always funny and never takes itself too seriously. The combination of witty writing, physical comedy, and endearing characters creates a perfect recipe for laughs that will leave you smiling long after the episode is over.

Another major aspect of Uncle is its focus on music. As a failed musician, Andy's passion for music is never too far from the surface, and it plays a significant role in the show. Each episode features a different musical theme, from karaoke nights to Andy's failed attempts at forming a band, and the show is known for its catchy and unique soundtrack which perfectly captures the offbeat spirit of the show.

As the show progresses, viewers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as Andy, Errol, and the rest of the gang face new challenges and struggles. Sam's new relationship, Bruce's foray into politics, and Val's desire for grandparenthood are just a few of the many storylines that keep the show fresh and exciting, even into its third and final season.

Overall, Uncle is a heartwarming and hilarious sitcom that explores the complexities of family, friendship, and growing up. Its witty writing, endearing characters, and unique blend of humor and heart make it a must-watch for anyone looking for something a little different in their comedies. Although the show has come to an end, its legacy is sure to live on, as it continues to make new fans laugh and smile with each passing year.

Uncle is a series that is currently running and has 3 seasons (18 episodes). The series first aired on October 14, 2014.
