In season 4 episode 16 of Pretty Little Liars, titled Love ShAck, Baby, the episode opens with the four friends - Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer still reeling from the revelation that Alison is actually alive, and with grave concerns about how it will affect their lives, particularly after Ali's talk with Emily in the previous episode.
In the meantime, Hanna is trying to reconcile her feelings for Travis with her residual feelings for Caleb, while Emily is trying to balance her real interests with her job at Rosewood high, and Aria is struggling to keep her relationship with Ezra a secret after her mother tells her it's time to move on.
The girls plan a car-junking outing as they plot to destroy all of Ali's remaining effects, but end up encountering Cyrus there, whom they eventually trap and try to turn in for Ali's murder, however, their plan goes awry.
Meanwhile, Spencer decides to go after Ali herself, going to Ali's new home, the guesthouse of the wealthy Hastings family on the outskirts of town. Here she runs into Ali and they engage in a conversation, where Spencer tries to convince Ali that it's safe to come back to Rosewood and finally reveal the truth.
As the episode progresses, we see the relationships between the girls continue to change. Hanna continues to struggle with her romantic feelings, and this causes her to almost break down several times. Emily also has to juggle her responsibilities at work and her personal life, while Aria grows increasingly uneasy as she tries to keep her secret relationship under wraps.
The episode's climax comes when Ali finally returns to Rosewood, much to the surprise of the Liars, but her arrival is not what they had expected. As secrets are revealed and new connections are made, the episode ends with a shocking twist that will leave fans eagerly anticipating what happens next.
Overall, Love ShAck, Baby is an exciting addition to an already thrilling series, and fans of the show will find this episode to be just as suspenseful and enjoyable as any of its predecessors.
