Professor Balthazar is a children's animated show about a kind and brilliant scientist who helps the people of his city with his inventions. In season 1 episode 12, titled "Windy Story," the city is experiencing a strong windstorm which causes chaos and danger throughout its streets.
As the episode begins, we see the citizens struggling to maintain their balance against the strong winds. Objects are flying everywhere and people are struggling to stay safe. In the midst of it all, Professor Balthazar receives a distress call from Mayor Bahri who requests his assistance to calm the winds. Professor Balthazar agrees and sets out to solve the problem.
After examining the situation, Professor Balthazar concludes that he needs to create a machine that will calm the winds and restore order to the city. He enlists the help of his assistant, Gloria, and they begin working on the machine together. It's in this scene where we see the depth of their friendship, teamwork, and the extent of their talents in engineering machines.
Their machine comprises of large fans that are powerful enough to generate a force in a clockwise direction while their spin opposes the natural path of the winds that are flowing counterclockwise. Even though it initially seems to be working, they both realize that there is a problem, and the machine is only making the winds more erratic and dangerous.
Professor Balthazar admits defeat and decides to consult the wind sprites, elemental beings that are responsible for the winds. He believes that the wind sprites are being disturbed, and that's why the winds are so powerful. Professor Balthazar seeks the help of the magical glider, an expert on the wind sprites who has the ability to fly effortlessly in the winds. The glider agrees to help and takes him to see the wind sprites.
During this journey, they meet with the wind sprites who explain that the strong winds are due to a lack of happy thoughts amongst the people. The wind sprites feed on joyful feelings, but there is too much angst and sadness amongst the people. Professor Balthazar realizes that they need to distribute positive thoughts to the citizens quickly, and he knows exactly how to do it.
He and Gloria create a machine that broadcasts happy thoughts and distributes it across the city at lightning-fast speeds. It doesn't take long before the people's moods start to lift, and the winds start to die down. Suddenly, the winds transform into gentle breezes, and the city starts to regain its tranquility.
As the episode ends, we see the city in a state of calm, and everyone is happy and enjoying the beautiful weather. Professor Balthazar and Gloria check in with Mayor Bahri, who thanks them for their work. The episode ends with a happy and triumphant atmosphere, with Professor Balthazar and Gloria enjoying their mutual passion for engineering useful machines in their laboratory.
