Ep 1. Welcome to New York

Project Runway Junior is a fashion reality competition show that features twelve young designers, ranging from ages 13-17 years old, from across the country, competing for the coveted title of America's Next Junior Designer.

In the first episode titled "Welcome to New York," the young designers are introduced to the show and each other as they make their way to the Project Runway workroom in New York City. The contestants meet their mentor, well-known fashion designer Tim Gunn, and host, actress and model Hannah Davis.

After a brief introduction, the designers receive their first challenge and are tasked with creating a high-fashion look using inspiration from the city of New York. The designers are given a budget of $200 to shop at Mood Fabric store and are given two days to complete their look.

The designers are seen sketching their designs, choosing fabrics, and engaging in conversations with each other as they begin their first project. There are a few bumps in the road, like designer Zachary struggling to find fabric that matches his vision and Maya who grapples with a creative block and self-doubt.

Tim Gunn makes his rounds, visiting each designer's station to check in on their progress and offer advice. He encourages them to think outside of the box and pushes them to experiment with different fabrics and techniques to bring their visions to life.

As the deadline approaches, the designers work long hours into the night to get their garments finished. The runway show is held the next day, where the designers display their creations to the judges; actress Kelly Osbourne, designer Christian Siriano, and co-host Hannah Davis.

The judges critique each look, praising some and providing constructive criticism to others. Ultimately, one designer is declared the winner and another is eliminated. The winner receives immunity for the next challenge, while the eliminated designer unfortunately packs their bags and prepares to leave the city.

The first episode of Project Runway Junior provides a glimpse into the creativity and talent of the young designers as they begin their journey towards becoming the next Junior Designer. As the competition progresses, the designers will face more challenges and obstacles, but will undoubtedly rise to the occasion with their unique perspectives and designs.
