Ep 3. 30th Anniversary of Shark Week

In this episode of Ridiculous Cakes, the bakers are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shark Week by creating some of the wildest and most elaborate shark-themed cake designs ever seen. With their creativity and skill, they aim to create cakes that are not only awe-inspiring to behold, but that also capture the spirit of Shark Week and all that it represents.

From lifelike shark models to oceanic backdrops, the bakers pull out all the stops to create cakes that are works of art as well as culinary masterpieces. The winning cake will not only be featured on the Shark Week website, but will also be showcased on an upcoming episode of the popular TV series Shark After Dark.

As the bakers get to work, they face a number of challenges, from creating shark fins that don't flop over to building towering structures that can withstand the weight of the cake they support. One team decides to focus on the more playful side of Shark Week, creating a cake that features a cartoonish shark with a goofy grin on its face. Their cake is covered in colorful fondant, with a giant shark fin protruding out of the top. To really capture the feeling of being underwater with sharks, they decide to add a layer of blue Jell-O on top of the cake, giving it a wavy, oceanic texture.

Working with a mold made from rice cereal treats, they shape the body of the shark and cover it in gray fondant. Then they add a layer of royal icing to create the rough texture of the shark's skin. To really make it look like the shark is leaping out of the water, they add a spray of blue-colored buttercream on the base of the cake.

As the clock ticks down and the pressure mounts, the teams work furiously to put the finishing touches on their creations. With judges weighing in on each cake's design, flavor, and execution, the competition is neck-and-neck until the very end.
