In Roadies season 1 episode 9, "The Corporate Gig," the crew heads to Kansas City for a corporate gig, which presents a much different environment than they're used to. The show opens with a brief glimpse at Bill and Shelli's budding relationship, hinting at the tension that may soon arise between them.

Once they arrive in Kansas City, the crew is greeted with a luxurious setup, complete with a five-star hotel and top-of-the-line gear for the event. However, tensions begin to rise when they realize that they're essentially working for a company rather than the fans, and they struggle to maintain their authenticity and passion in a soulless corporate setting.

As they prepare for the show, they encounter a variety of challenges, including a snobby catering crew and a troublesome drum kit. Reg tries to reconnect with an old flame who's attending the event, but quickly realizes that their paths have diverged too much for a reunion.

As the show gets underway, the crew begins to feel disheartened by the lack of enthusiasm from the corporate crowd. However, they're ultimately able to power through and put on a stunning performance that reminds them of why they do what they do.

The episode ends with Janine revealing that she's landed a job in New York and will be leaving the tour early. The crew struggles to come to terms with the impending departure of one of their own, but ultimately rallies together to support Janine and give her a memorable send-off.

Overall, "The Corporate Gig" presents a thought-provoking exploration of the tensions between artistic integrity and corporate interests, while also delivering heartwarming character moments and an electrifying musical performance.
