As humans have established a society on Mars, the Earth has entered a state of decadence. Robby Yaji, a man who works part-time jobs and barely makes ends meet, longs to lead a carefree life like a "good old days." One day, he meets Hatchi Kita, a boy who is a real-life companion android produced by Hoshino Robotics. Hatchi meets Robby and becomes a "partner" in his debt-collecting efforts. Despite being complete opposites, Hatchi's sincere personality, pure-heartedness, and superb combat skills entice Robby to keep Hatchi by his side. After a heated argument, they both wind up taking an unexpected trip to the universe from a shady lane in the city. Within the immense outer space, they come across a wealthy galactic community where their lifestyle is closer to the past where the dawn of humanity began.

The storyline of the story focuses on two main characters, Robby Yaji at 23 years old and Hatchi Kita at 18 years old. Robby lives in a world where Earth is in shambles, and humans have established a society on Mars. Robby dreams of leading a carefree life like the "good old days," but his reality is quite the opposite. He works part-time jobs to make ends meet and is always struggling to cover his expenses. Hatchi, on the other hand, is a companion android created by Hoshino Robotics, designed as a "real-life partner" for humans. Although he is an android, Hatchi has a sincere personality and pure-heartedness that instantly attracts Robby towards him.

The episode starts with Robby, struggling to pay off his debts, trying to convince a group of men to lend him some money. When they refuse, he gets angry and starts to fight them, leading to the police putting them both behind bars. In jail, Hatchi comes to their aid, and Robby decides to make Hatchi his partner in his debt-collecting efforts. However, the two get into a heated argument, and they suddenly find themselves stuck in a shady lane in the middle of the city that opens up to the universe. They are then greeted by a hologram of a woman who offers them a chance to embark on a journey to the stars.

As they embark on their journey, they come across a wealthy galactic community, where the lifestyle is closer to the past when the dawn of humanity began. They find themselves in a world where technological advancements have made lives easier and more comfortable, but consequently, humans have lost their sense of adventure and exploration. They are greeted by several strange characters, including Rickenbacker, a space pirate who Robby owes money; and Yang, a woman who seems to know a lot about the two. The two are offered a chance to earn vast sums of money, which Robby sees as an opportunity to clear his debts, and they decide to take on a job that involves apprehending a notorious space pirate.

As they continue their journey, they encounter many more strange and fascinating characters, including a being with magical powers and a humanoid cat with a passion for music. They also come across obstacles in their mission, which test their friendship and partnership. However, they also develop a friendship and trust that they never thought they would have with each other.
