Ep 8. Better Red than Dead

In "Better Red than Dead," the eighth episode of Rogue season 2, Ethan searches for Mia and Marty, who have gone missing in Mexico. He's hired a private investigator, who tells him that they were last seen fleeing from cartel members in a truck. Meanwhile, Harper and Patrick are still on the hunt for the two men who attacked them at the bar, and their investigation leads them to a mysterious new suspect.

In Mexico, Mia and Marty are taken captive by the cartel and forced to watch as a woman is brutally murdered. The cartel leader, Carlos, confronts Mia about her true identity and accuses her of being a DEA agent. Mia tries to convince him otherwise, but her story doesn't add up. Marty tries to negotiate their release and comes up with a plan to offer Carlos something he wants in exchange for their freedom.

Back in San Francisco, Harper and Patrick's suspect leads them to a surprising discovery about the bar attack. They enlist the help of a former associate to try and trap the perpetrators, but things quickly go awry. Meanwhile, Ethan is faced with a difficult decision when he learns that his informant's life is in danger. He tries to rescue her and bring her back to the U.S., but their escape is not without consequences.

As the episode comes to a close, several key characters are left in perilous situations. Mia and Marty are still in the hands of the cartel, while Harper and Patrick's investigation leads them down an unexpected path. Ethan's informant is safe, but the aftermath of their escape puts him in an even more dangerous position.
