Pandemic is a miniseries about an outbreak of a deadly disease that spreads across the planet. It starts with two American surfers who travels back home on a plane only to die once they arrive. After the two surfers die a doctor named Kayla Martin realizes that something is wrong.

She then tries to have all the passengers on the plane to be quarantined. However, one of the quarantined passengers manages to avoid confinement. He unwittingly spreads the disease to many people all throughout the Los Angeles area.

To complicate matters worse, a ruthless drug lord happens to be one of the confined passengers. Once he found out what has happened he decides to get free with some of the other passengers.

After he escapes, he manages to steal the serum that could end this deadly pandemic. He then tries to blackmail state and local officials. Kayla, her team and government officials all ban together to stop the pandemic while trying to keep the drug lord from accomplishing his agenda.

As the epidemic worsens and the death toll rises all over California, the governor and mayor have to find a way around their political differences so that they can make tough decisions dealing with the blackmail scheme, as well as a frightened populace and all of the problems associated with a widespread and deadly epidemic.

After a nineteen-year-old male dies on a flight following a raging fever and violent convulsions, CDC epidemiologist Dr. Kayla Martin and her partner Carl Ratner consider the frightening possibilities -- the reality of the bird flu, the probability of a biological attack, or worse, a new virus they can't control. But by the time the passengers of the flight are filtered into the ward of a local hospital, the infection is already poisoning sections of Los Angeles, unbeknownst to each victim who passes it on.
