Ep 5. Lies

In Salem season 1 episode 5, titled Lies, tensions continue to rise in the witch-trial ridden town as John Alden's hold on the proceedings begins to slip. Mary Sibley, still determined to protect her own interests, grows increasingly frustrated with Alden's refusal to take her side and begins to seek out other allies who may be more willing to do her bidding.

Meanwhile, Cotton Mather, struggling with his own demons, finds himself drawn further into the chaos of the trials as he tries to uncover the truth behind the accusations.
