A new aircraft is shot down. The navigator, Flight Lieutenant Peter Romsey (Christopher Guard) survives, but cannot be sure of his safety. Separated from his Lifeline companions in France, he takes refuge with English author Hugh Neville (Peter Barkworth) and his wife Dorothy (Joanna Van Gyseghem).
