In the seventh episode of Season 2 of Secrets of the Zoo, entitled Febreze, Please, the staff at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium face some unique challenges as they work to care for the animals in their charge.
Viewers will get to see the zoo's veterinary team as they work with an anteater who has been suffering from a respiratory illness. The team is challenged to come up with a solution when the animal proves to be too stubborn to take his medication. In addition, the staff will work to create a special environment to help the anteater's recovery.
But the challenges don't end there. In another segment, viewers see the team grappling with a hair-raising sight: a spider monkey with a serious case of dandruff. As the monkey's fur continues to fall off, the team works to find the cause of the problem and a solution to help the monkey get back to health.
Another segment of the show focuses on a pair of red pandas that are acting aggressive. The zoo's team is concerned that the animals have an underlying medical condition that's causing the behavior, so they work to get them checked out and treated.
The staff also works tirelessly to care for a number of other animals, including a flamingo with a serious medical issue, a pair of tigers that have been separated and need to be reintroduced, and a baby rhino that needs to be bottle-fed.
Throughout the episode, viewers get to see the passion and dedication of the zoo's staff as they work tirelessly to care for the animals in their charge.
