Seed is a hilarious sitcom that aired on The CW from 2013 to 2014. The show follows the story of a single and underachieving bartender named Harry Dacosta, played by Adam Korson. Despite being a man-child who is far from ready to settle down, Harry decides to donate his sperm to earn some extra cash. Little did Harry know that his semen would make him a father to several children, each with a different mother.
After donating his sperm to a fertility clinic, Harry's world becomes complicated when three of his progenies shows up at his doorstep â Aiden, Anastasia, and Billy. The idea of fatherhood intimidated Harry, who had no intentions of being a parent. However, Harry must serve as a father figure to these kids as their mothers go through some challenging situations.
Aiden, a chubby asthmatic, is the first child to appear at Harry's house. He's very curious and seems to have a lot of questions for Harry, who struggles to relate to him. Anastasia is the second of Harry's kids to show up, and she could not be more different from Aiden. She's an intelligent and ambitious teenager who's much wiser for her age. Anastasia is on a journey to find her biological father after her mother refused to give up any information about him.
Billy is the third child to arrive at Harry's home. Unlike the other two, Billy is not the son of a stranger at the clinic, but Harry's former girlfriend, Rose. Rose, a successful and fierce lawyer, felt the need to have a child but refused to involve Harry in the process. So, she got a sperm donor, but the result was a son with Harry's distinct traits. Rose knows Harry has to be involved in Billy's life, but Harry is not sure that's what he wants.
The show follows Harry's journey as he tries to figure out fatherhood while navigating his relationships with the mothers of his children, his girlfriend Zoey, and his two best friends, who are polar opposites. Harry's best friend, Billy, is a suave and stereotypical ladies' man who is not the most trustworthy person. His other buddy, Jonathan, is a clean freak and a germaphobe, who is also dealing with anxiety problems.
Seed is a light-hearted sitcom that navigates the ups and downs of family relationships while injecting comedy into every episode. Harry is a lovable but clueless figure who tries to do his best but messes up sometimes. The show's writing is sharp, with each of the characters having a unique personality and their own set of quirks.
Overall, Seed is a perfect blend of comedy and family drama. It explores themes of fatherhood, relationships, and growing up in an exciting and engaging way. If you're looking for a charming and enjoyable show, Seed is definitely worth checking out.
