Carrie receives some shocking news when she finds out that her computer has crashed and all her work is gone. She tries to salvage as much as she can, but is forced to buy a new computer. Meanwhile, Charlotte has been having trouble with her mother, who wants to set her up with a man, despite Charlotte's protestations that she isn't interested in getting married anytime soon.

Samantha is dealing with her own personal crisis, as she discovers that she has contracted an STD. She is mortified and fears that her sex life is over. But she soon realizes that she is not alone and that there are support groups out there for people in her situation.

Meanwhile, Miranda is dealing with a problem of her own, as she begins to feel insecure about her body after gaining some weight. She tries to hide her body from her boyfriend, but when he finds out, he is more supportive than she anticipated.

As the episode progresses, each of the women faces their individual challenges head on. They must learn to accept and love themselves, flaws and all, in order to move forward. And in the process, they realize that their friendships are what truly keep them stable and strong, no matter what life throws their way.

Overall, "My Motherboard, My Self" is a powerful episode that showcases the ups and downs of life and the importance of self-love and friendship.
