Yoh Asakura's journey as a Shaman continues in Shaman King season 1 episode 2, titled "Another Shaman." The episode starts with the introduction of a new character, Anna Kyoyama, who is revealed to be Yoh's fiancée. Anna is a strong-willed girl who possesses psychic powers and is also a Shaman like Yoh.
Yoh and Anna meet up with Yoh's friend, Manta Oyamada, who is surprised to see Anna and even more surprised when she reveals that she is Yoh's fiancée. Manta, being the curious one, asks Yoh about Shamanism, and Yoh explains that Shamans are people who can communicate with the spirits of the dead. He also reveals that there is a tournament, the Shaman Fight, that takes place every 500 years, where Shamans from all over the world compete to become the Shaman King.
As they walk through the streets, they come across a Shaman who is causing chaos and destruction. This Shaman is revealed to be Ryu, who is Yoh's childhood friend and also a Shaman. Ryu is seen wielding a giant sword and is using it to cause destruction. Yoh and the others try to stop him, but Ryu is too strong and they are forced to flee.
Yoh and Anna are intrigued by Ryu's behavior, and they decide to investigate. They discover that Ryu is being controlled by a spirit, and Yoh suggests that they find the Shaman who is controlling Ryu to free him from the spirit's control. Anna agrees, and together they set out to find the other Shaman.
Their search leads them to a mysterious woman named Tao Len, who is also a Shaman. Tao Len is a cold and distant person who is not interested in helping Yoh and Anna, but they manage to convince her to help them when they tell her that Ryu is being controlled by a spirit. Tao Len reveals that the spirit controlling Ryu is a Goryu, an evil spirit that feeds on negative emotions.
Yoh, Anna, Ryu, Manta, and Tao Len set out to find the Goryu. Their journey takes them to a dangerous mountain, where they face many challenges and obstacles. Along the way, they encounter another Shaman, who is also searching for the Goryu. This Shaman is named Faust VIII, and he is a creepy doctor who seems to be more interested in dissecting dead bodies than anything else.
Finally, they reach the top of the mountain and find the Goryu. A fierce battle ensues, and Yoh and the others use their Shaman powers to defeat the Goryu. Ryu is freed from the spirit's control, and he and Yoh share a heartfelt reunion. It is revealed that Ryu was being controlled by the spirit because he wanted to become stronger, but Yoh tells him that true strength comes from within and that he doesn't need the spirit's help.
The episode ends with Yoh, Anna, Ryu, Manta, and Tao Len parting ways, with Yoh and Anna continuing their journey to become the Shaman King. The episode sets up the backstory and introduces several new characters who will become important in Yoh's journey. Shaman King season 1 episode 2 is a great continuation of the series, with action-packed scenes, interesting character dynamics, and a captivating storyline.
