Ep 7. The Patent Troll

Richard and the Pied Piper team face a new challenge when they discover that their app may infringe upon a patent held by a notorious patent troll named Marshall Stambler. In order to avoid a costly lawsuit, the team decides to meet with Stambler and try to negotiate a settlement. However, they quickly realize that Stambler is not interested in settling and is instead using his patent as leverage to squeeze money out of tech companies.

Meanwhile, Jian-Yang tries to become a US citizen by taking advantage of Erlich's absence and claiming that he is the owner of the incubator. Dinesh and Gilfoyle see this as an opportunity to kick Jian-Yang out of the incubator and take over his room, but Jian-Yang proves to be more resourceful than they anticipated.

As tensions rise between the Pied Piper team and Stambler, Richard becomes increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress and decides to take matters into his own hands. He enlists the help of a hacker in an attempt to launch a cyber attack against Stambler and steal his patent.

The team's actions have consequences, and they find themselves in a precarious position when Stambler retaliates. They must decide whether to fight back or cave to his demands and settle the lawsuit, potentially jeopardizing the future of Pied Piper.

Throughout the episode, the team grapples with the ethics of patent trolling and the pressure to protect their intellectual property. As they navigate this difficult situation, they must find a way to work together and come up with a solution that will satisfy everyone involved.
