Stacey Castor was a suburban mother of two from upstate New York who was convicted of the murder of her second husband and the attempted murder of her daughter.

The episode begins with Stacey calling 911 in distress claiming that her husband, David Castor, had committed suicide in their home. She tells the operators that he must have been depressed and used antifreeze to end his own life. But as investigators arrive on the scene, they quickly realize that something doesn't add up. David's death appears staged and there is evidence of foul play.

As police dig deeper into the couple's history, they discover that Stacey's first husband, Michael Wallace, had also died under suspicious circumstances years earlier. They exhumed his body and found that he had been poisoned with antifreeze, just like David. The investigation then turns to Stacey's own daughter, Ashley, who had been hospitalized for mysterious seizures around the same time as her stepfather's death.

As the evidence mounts against her, Stacey continues to deny any involvement in the deaths of her loved ones. She maintains that she is a victim of circumstance and that the real killer is still at large. But when confronted with facts and witness testimony, Stacey's story starts to unravel and she is eventually brought to trial.

The trial is filled with shocking revelations about Stacey's past, including her abusive relationships and history of alcohol and prescription drug abuse. The prosecution paints her as a cold and calculating killer who was willing to sacrifice anyone to get what she wanted. Stacey's defense team, on the other hand, tries to portray her as a loving mother and victim of circumstance who was wrongly accused.

In the end, Stacey is found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her second husband and attempted murder of her daughter. She is sentenced to 51 years in prison, where she will spend the rest of her life.

The episode is a chilling reminder of how far people will go to fulfill their own desires and the tragic consequences that can result. It also highlights the importance of diligent police work and the role of forensic science in solving crimes.
