Ep 15. The Tower

In "The Tower," the fifteenth episode of the second season of Stargate Atlantis, our heroes find themselves in a sticky situation when they are stranded on a planet with no way of contacting Atlantis for help. The episode opens with Dr. McKay attempting to fix the team's recently-acquired personal shield, which has been damaged in a skirmish with some hostile natives. While attempting to repair the device, McKay inadvertently activates a distress beacon, which draws the attention of a mysterious energy creature.

The creature begins to attack the team, forcing them to flee through a nearby Stargate. They emerge on a desolate, barren planet that seems to be completely devoid of life. After taking stock of their situation, the team realizes that they are stranded with no way of contacting Atlantis for help. As they make their way across the planet's barren landscape, they stumble upon a massive tower that seems to be the only structure in sight.

As they approach the tower, they are greeted by a group of Jaffa, who inform them that they are trespassing on sacred ground. The Jaffa, led by a stern and powerful priestess named Ke'ra, are guarding the tower and are immediately suspicious of the Atlantis team. After a tense encounter, the team is allowed inside the tower to seek refuge from the dangerous energy creature that is still pursuing them.

Once inside the tower, the team discovers that it is a massive, ancient structure that seems to be powered by an otherworldly energy source. The team begins to explore the tower, hoping to find a way to contact Atlantis and get them off the planet. Along the way, they encounter a number of strange and deadly creatures that are seemingly immune to their weapons.

As they climb higher and higher inside the tower, they begin to unravel its mysteries. They discover that the tower was built by an ancient and powerful civilization that was able to harness the energy of the universe itself. This civilization was destroyed millennia ago, but their technology lives on in the tower. As they explore deeper and deeper, the team realizes that the tower is not just a structure, but a weapon of immense power.

The Atlantis team is quickly caught up in a struggle between Ke'ra and her Jaffa and a rogue group of rebels who are attempting to seize control of the tower. As they fight to gain control of the tower, the Atlantis team discovers that there is a way to use the weapon to contact Atlantis and get off the planet. But to do so, they must first defeat the Jaffa, the rebels, and the energy creature that is still pursuing them.

The final showdown takes place at the top of the tower, where the Atlantis team faces off against Ke'ra and her Jaffa and the rebels. The energy creature has also made its way to the top of the tower and is wreaking havoc, threatening to destroy them all. In a dramatic series of events, the team is able to gain control of the weapon and use it to contact Atlantis. They are rescued just in time as the energy creature destroys the tower and everyone inside.

As the Atlantis team returns to Atlantis, they are left to ponder the power and danger of the ancient technology they encountered. They are reminded once again that the universe is full of wonders and dangers beyond their wildest imaginations.
