Ep 13. Mirror Gem / Ocean Gem

In "Mirror Gem / Ocean Gem," the thirteenth episode of the first season of Steven Universe, tensions rise as a new villain threatens the peace of Beach City. Steven finds a mirror in an abandoned structure and takes it back to the gems' temple, where it quickly becomes apparent that the mirror is not ordinary. When Steven's own reflection begins to converse with him, the gems realize that the mirror is a tool of an ancient Gem and that it has been sending signals out into the universe for thousands of years. When the mysterious Lapis Lazuli appears before the gems, they learn that she was trapped in the mirror by Homeworld Gems and must be freed before she can be of any help to them. Meanwhile, Mayor Dewey has his own problems to deal with as the town's beaches are being evacuated due to sudden and violent weather changes.

As the gems work to free Lapis, they must confront both the corrupt gem authorities who imprisoned Lapis in the mirror as well as the monstrous Water Clone army that she has created in her own protection. Will the gems be able to save Lapis and protect the town of Beach City from the Water Clones? Can Lapis be trusted, or is she a pawn in a larger game of Gem politics?
