Still Game is a hit Scottish sitcom that originally aired in 2002. The show follows the escapades of a group of elderly friends living in the fictional Scottish town of Craiglang, and explores the ups and downs of growing old. The sixth and final episode of season one is titled "Scones," and it's a classic installment of the series.

In this episode, we see best friends Jack Jarvis (played by Ford Kiernan) and Victor McDade (played by Greg Hemphill) at odds with each other. Victor is eager to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, while Jack is decidedly less enthusiastic. The two friends bicker back and forth about their differing views, with Jack insisting that they should ignore the Jubilee completely. Victor is convinced that he and his friend should show their love for the Queen by baking a batch of scones and taking them to a local street party.

Despite Jack's reservations about the idea, the duo gets to work on baking their scones. They are joined by another elderly friend, Winston Ingram (played by Paul Riley), who is always up for a good laugh. The three men have various mishaps in the kitchen as they try to perfect their recipe, and the tension between Jack and Victor is palpable.

When the scones are finally ready, Jack and Victor make their way to the street party in the town square. There, they find themselves surrounded by a sea of Union Jacks, bunting, and people all dressed up in red, white, and blue. Jack is still very much against the Jubilee celebration, but Victor is in his element. He proudly hands out the scones to his fellow revelers, who can't get enough of them.

As the party wears on, tensions between Jack and Victor begin to rise once more. Jack feels that Victor is being a little too enthusiastic about the Jubilee, while Victor accuses Jack of being unpatriotic. In the end, the two friends have a huge argument, and it seems as though their friendship might be irreparably damaged.

Of course, as with all good sitcoms, things don't stay sour for long. When a local gang of punks show up and start causing trouble at the party, Jack, Victor, and Winston put their differences aside and come together to take them on. The episode ends on a high note, with the three friends laughing and joking together as they nurse their bruises and recount their epic battle with the punks.

Overall, "Scones" is a great example of what makes Still Game so beloved. The friendship between Jack, Victor, and Winston is at the heart of the episode, and it's clear that they care deeply for each other, despite their disagreements. The comedic moments in the kitchen are hilarious and relatable, and the confrontation with the punks is unexpected but satisfying. All in all, it's a great episode that will leave viewers laughing and feeling good.
