Granville is testing a new product in the store — a tub of Yorkshire Yogurt. He wants to boost sales, so he tries to think of a marketing strategy. A rival vendor, Mr. Newbold, seems to be pulling more customers into his store and Granville is concerned. He is convinced he needs a new advertising approach to beat his competitor.

Meanwhile, Nurse Gladys is back in the store to pick up a prescription for her mother. She begins yelling at Granville as soon as she enters the store, visibly upset about something. It turns out that her mother has incurred a large debt with the local bookie and can't afford to pay it back. Gladys needs a quick solution to pay off the debt, but she refuses to ask Granville for help.

Soon, a group of local businessmen come into the store, led by Mr. Newbold. They seem to be looking for something, but they won't say what it is. Granville and Cyril begin to worry that they might be in legal trouble for some sort of breach-of-contract offense.

Granville comes up with a plan to advertise Yorkshire Yogurt all around town, but he needs help distributing the flyers. Cyril agrees to help him and they start walking around the town, putting flyers through people's letterboxes. However, their task is soon made difficult when they start facing rejection from angry clients. Some people are simply not interested, while others are angry that they are bothering them.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Featherstone is also in the store, asking Granville for a bottle of her favorite bath oil. Granville manages to sell her a lot more than that, including a giant tub of the Yorkshire Yogurt. It looks like their marketing strategy is working.

The businessmen are still hanging around the store, and Granville starts to panic. Eventually, he asks Nurse Gladys for help. She agrees to speak to the businessmen and they soon realize that the group are actually members of the town's historical society. They have been researching the town's history and are looking for information on old local businesses. They eventually find what they are looking for and end up buying a few items from Granville's store.

The episode ends with Granville and Cyril back in the store, tired and worn out from their marketing drive. The phone rings and it's Nurse Gladys, telling Granville that her mother's debt has been paid. Granville is relieved, but it seems like his marketing campaign has been successful.

Overall, Marketing Drive is a lighthearted episode that follows Granville and his associates as they try to come up with a catchy slogan for their new product. The episode also touches on some more serious themes, such as debt and financial difficulties. However, the show keeps its trademark humor throughout, making it an enjoyable watch for fans of the series.
