In episode 5, tensions continue to rise at Sungkyunkwan as Sun Joon, Yoon Hee, and Jae Shin try to prevent a conflict between the Noron and Soron factions. When they hear that the Noron leader, Kim Woo Tak, plans to visit the Soron leader's house, they worry that it could escalate into violence. Sun Joon suggests that they sneak into Woo Tak's quarters to see if they can discover any incriminating evidence.
Meanwhile, Yoon Hee is still struggling with the secret of her true gender. She confides in Cho Sun, who tells her that she must work even harder now to prove herself. Yoon Hee takes this advice to heart and impresses her Confucian Ethics professor by reciting an impressive passage from the Analects of Confucius.
Back in Woo Tak's quarters, Sun Joon and his friends find a letter that suggests Woo Tak may be plotting against the Soron faction. However, as they try to leave, they are caught by Woo Tak and his followers. In the ensuing scuffle, they manage to escape but not without sustaining injuries.
Meanwhile, In Soo, who is watching the events unfold from afar, decides to take advantage of the situation. He tells Woo Tak that Yoon Hee is actually a girl, hoping to cause a scandal that will get her expelled from Sungkyunkwan. Woo Tak is hesitant to believe him at first, but when he sees Yoon Hee dressing in women's clothes to help her injured friends, he becomes suspicious.
Yoon Hee is summoned to meet with the Dean of Students, where she is accused of breaking university rules by dressing inappropriately. Yoon Hee is horrified and humiliated, but Sun Joon comes to her defense, claiming that Yoon Hee was simply trying to help her friends and that the situation was his fault for dragging her into the mission in the first place. The Dean gives Yoon Hee a warning and lets her off with a slap on the wrist.
As the episode ends, tensions between the Noron and Soron factions seem to have calmed down for the time being, but In Soo looks like he's not done trying to cause trouble for Yoon Hee and her friends. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager to see what will happen next.
