He then slathers the chicken with a homemade mayo made with habanero peppers, creating a creamy and spicy sauce that perfectly complements the sandwich.

The third chef, a caterer from Los Angeles, decides to go the vegetarian route and makes a grilled vegetable enchilada with poblano peppers. She grills zucchini, peppers, and onions until they are tender and slightly charred, then stuffs them into corn tortillas. She makes a creamy and spicy sauce by roasting and pureeing the poblano peppers, then spooning it over the top of the enchiladas.

The final contestant, a food truck chef from Austin, opts for a classic chili con carne with jalapeno peppers. He starts by browning ground beef in a cast-iron skillet, then adds diced tomatoes, beans, and a variety of spices to create a rich and hearty chili. He grills jalapeno peppers to add a smoky flavor, then tops the chili with grated cheese and serves it with cornbread.

As the shoppers circle the parking lot, the chefs race against the clock to finish their dishes and impress the judges. Each dish showcases the featured chili peppers in a unique and flavorful way, but only one contestant can be crowned the winner and take home the prize money.
