The American Dream Project is a series that follows British-born New Yorker James Marshall and his friend, Todd, as they set off across the United States armed with a small amount of money to reverse the idea the negative connotation that many people have of the United States. On their journey, the pair stay with ordinary Americans in eight big and small towns and work to earn their keep. The documentary's purpose is to show that the American Dream and the optimistic spirit is still alive in the United States by the way most people live their daily lives.
