Rick asks C.J. if he'll cover for him because he has plans with Amber. C.J. knows Amber and Rick have been sleeping together and wants to know if they've been taking precautions. Brooke tells Amber she'll have her arrested for statutory rape if she meets Rick at the cabin. Amber agrees to get out of their lives for Rick's sake, not Brooke's, but ups the ante to fifty thousand dollars. When Brooke agrees, Amber assures her she just paid off the best thing that ever happened to her son. Amber tells C.J. about her deal with Brooke and asks him to deliver a letter to Rick at the cabin. C.J. accuses Amber of selling out, certain she was always in it for the money, but Amber breaks down, telling C.J. she realizes it's best for Rick.
