Ridge insists that Thorne's marriage isn't in trouble and Stephanie is looking for problems that don't exist. Stephanie believes they should all be on their guard with Brooke. She warns Ridge that no matter how docile Brooke appears, there's always the chance she'll tear Thorne's heart into pieces. Deacon is stunned that the man who means so much to Brooke isn't her husband, but Ridge. He realizes that Brooke thinks he'll never forget Amber because she's never gotten over Ridge. Brooke tells him that Bridget deserves to be married to a man who isn't secretly pining for someone else. Deacon tells Brooke that she wants Ridge, but settled for Thorne, and she doesn't want Bridget settling for less that what's best for her. Brooke is alarmed and tells Deacon not to breathe a word of this to anyone. They are unaware that Thorne is listening at the door, horrified by what he's heard. Brooke tells Deacon that if he doesn't end his marriage and go after Amber he'll regret it the rest of his life. Megan tells Thorne that the cabin is all ready for Brooke and him. After Thorne leaves, Megan realizes he forgot the ring he'd bought and decides to deliver to him in Big Bear. Later, when Megan gives him the ring, he hurls it to the ground and crushes it. He tells Megan that Brooke settled for him and is still in love with Ridge.
