Ep 1. Get Hooked

After a successful first season, The Boulet Brothers Dragula returned with more gruesome challenges and captivating performances in season 2 episode 1, titled "Get Hooked." As usual, the Boulet Brothers, Dracmorda and Swanthula, were ready to put the 10 drag monsters to the test in an ultimate fight to the finish for the chance to be named the next Drag Supermonster.

The episode kicked off with the Boulet Brothers introducing the contestants and their "horror" specialties, including Victoria Elizabeth Black's punk rock aesthetic, Kendra Onixxx's underground club kid style, and Disasterina's clown-inspired look. After introducing themselves, the contestants participated in a brief ensemble challenge in which they created a hooker-chic look with 30 minutes on the clock.

Next, the Boulet Brothers unveiled their first official challenge for the season. The contestants were tasked with creating a haunted hotel room and serving up a performance for the judges, which included the Boulet Brothers themselves, special guest Sharon Needles, and returning judge Frankie Doom. Each contestant was provided with a hotel room and the tools and materials that they needed to turn it into a gory nightmare.

As the contestants got to work, they encountered a few challenges along the way. Kendra Onixxx struggled to make her vision come to life but received guidance from Sharon Needles, who praised her for her unique style. Meanwhile, James Majesty was feeling frustrated with the limited space in their hotel room and Ratchet suffered an injury while installing one of her props.

As the contestants put the final touches on their rooms, it became clear that some of them had put a lot more effort and creativity into their rooms than others. Monikkie Shame's bloody bathtub and hanging corpse were particularly impressive, as were Biqtch Puddin's creepy baby dolls and meat hook decorations. The Boulet Brothers were pleased with most of the rooms, though they criticized some of the contestants for not pushing themselves far enough.

With the hotel rooms completed, it was time for the performances to begin. Each contestant performed a quick skit in their room, showing off their character and their haunted hotel room. Some of the performances were truly chilling, such as Victoria Elizabeth Black's unsettling monologue and Disasterina's demon summoning. Others were more comedic, like Dahli's Elizabeth Bathory-inspired bloodbath.

After the performances, the judges deliberated and announced the top three rooms: Monikkie Shame, Victoria Elizabeth Black, and Biqtch Puddin. The Boulet Brothers praised Monikkie for her attention to detail, Victoria for her creepy character, and Biqtch for her overall creativity. In the end, Biqtch Puddin was named the winner of the challenge and was given an advantage for the next challenge.

Overall, The Boulet Brothers Dragula season 2 episode 1 was a strong start to the season, offering up plenty of gore and twisted creativity. The contestants all brought their A-game and showed off their unique horror-inspired drag styles, promising a season filled with shocks, scares, and surprises. With challenges like these, it's anyone's guess who will be crowned the next Drag Supermonster.
