Ep 3. Valerie Bonds with the Cast

Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star, is again in the news, this time for having a bar altercation with a member of the paparazzi. As a result, she is ordered to go to an anger management course, where she meets Nina, who proceeds to introduce her to the other attendees.

Valerie bonds with the group over their shared experiences as actors, acknowledging the difficulties of maintaining their careers in Hollywood. They discuss the stigmas attached to actors attending auditions, and Valerie shares her own experiences of being told that she wasn't right for the role.

Later on, Valerie is invited to a table read of the script for her new sitcom. She is surprised to find that only four of the eight series regulars are present, and that the new writers have added a fresh new perspective on her character. Valerie struggles with the new changes and how it would affect her character she was not accompanying with the cast.

As Valerie reads her lines, she is continually interrupted by the other actors questioning her delivery, and the new writing. She becomes increasingly frustrated and begins to lose focus of the script. The writer and director give notes on her delivery and ask her to read it one more time.

The episode ends with Valerie practicing her lines in her trailer. A knock on the door interrupts her, and she is surprised to discover that it's Jane, who has come to support her and give her advice. With a newfound source of support, Valerie feels reinvigorated and ready to tackle the challenges of her new role.
