Ep 5. Killer Roommate

In the fifth episode of season 1 of The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes, viewers are taken through the case of a young woman who was found dead in her apartment, with her killer nowhere to be found. The victim, a college student named Cindy, had been renting a room in her apartment to a man named Bob for a few months before her death. As Paul Holes digs deeper into the case, he uncovers some startling findings about Bob's past. He had a criminal record for violent offenses, including assault and rape. He had also been evicted from previous apartments for threatening behavior. In one case, he had even threatened to kill his landlord.

Holes decides to focus on another piece of evidence in the case: a plastic bag found near Cindy's body. The bag had a unique design, and Holes believes that it could lead them to the killer. He begins searching for any stores in the area that may sell the bag, and eventually finds a match at a convenience store near Bob's previous apartment.

With this new information in hand, Holes and the police are able to track Bob down and bring him in for questioning. During the interrogation, Bob denies any involvement in Cindy's murder, but when presented with the evidence against him, he eventually breaks down and confesses to the crime.

The episode ends with Holes reflecting on the case and the importance of using DNA evidence to identify and convict killers. The killer in this case was able to evade capture for a while, but eventually, DNA evidence was able to connect him to the crime and bring him to justice.
