As soon as it was announced that Reese Witherspoon would be appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the 120th episode of its 17th season, fans of both Hollywood icons were thrilled at the prospect of this dynamic duo coming together on a live stage.

During the opening monologue, Ellen gave the audience a warm welcome and teased the exciting lineup for the show that day, including a special surprise guest. She then went on to discuss some recent news, including the much-anticipated Friends reunion special that is set to air on HBO Max.

Soon after, Reese Witherspoon made her entrance, sporting a chic white outfit and her signature blonde hair. The audience erupted in cheers as the actress flashed her infectious smile and sat down to chat with Ellen.

The two women started their conversation getting right into it, with Ellen asking Reese about her latest project, “Little Fires Everywhere,” a TV series produced by and co-starring Witherspoon as an upper-class housewife. The actress explained how she was drawn to the project's complex characters and themes of race and class, and how she felt all of these topics were important to address.

As the conversation continued, Reese shared insights about what it was like working with co-star Kerry Washington, revealing that the two had become close friends. Ellen and Reese then had some light-hearted fun trying out their different Southern accents, with Reese poking fun at Ellen's inability to master the dialect.

The two also touched on Reese's lifestyle brand, “Draper James,” which features everything from clothing to home decor. Reese shared her passion for making women feel confident and stylish, and how her brand promotes the basics of Southern hospitality and charm.

In signature Ellen-style, there were plenty of laughs throughout the show, with the duo playing a game called “What's Behind the Box?” in which they had to guess what was inside a mystery box simply by touch. There were also several hilarious moments in which Reese showed off her musical talent, including playing the autoharp and singing a snippet of a classic country song.

To wrap up the show, Ellen surprised Reese with a video message from one of her childhood heroes, country superstar Dolly Parton. Reese was visibly moved as she listened to Dolly's message of love and support, thanking Reese for all she's done for women and girls around the world.

As the show came to a close, audiences at home and in the studio alike couldn't help but feel uplifted by the positive and playful energy that Ellen and Reese brought to the table. It was a fun-filled, engaging, and ultimately heartwarming episode that left everyone feeling just a little bit brighter.
