The Ellen DeGeneres Show Season 5 Episode 68 Vince Mira, Alison Sweeney

  • December 12, 2007

In season 5 episode 68 of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, host Ellen DeGeneres welcomes two very special guests to the stage: Vince Mira, a young singer who gained fame through YouTube videos of himself singing Johnny Cash songs, and Alison Sweeney, an actress best known for her role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.

Ellen kicks things off by introducing Vince and asking him about his rise to fame. Vince explains that he had been performing at a local bar in his hometown of Seattle when someone recorded him singing "Folsom Prison Blues" and posted it online. The video went viral, and soon Vince was being invited to perform on national television shows.

Ellen then invites Vince to perform a song for the audience. He chooses "Hurt," another Johnny Cash classic, and the crowd is blown away by his raw, emotional rendition.

Next up is Alison Sweeney, who is on the show to promote her new book, The Mommy Diet. She and Ellen chat about motherhood and healthy living, and Alison shares some of her tips for staying in shape after having kids.

But the real fun starts when Ellen challenges Alison to a game of "Guess That Soap Opera." The two women compete to see who can identify the most classic soap opera scenes, and it's a close race until the very end.

Finally, Ellen surprises Vince with a special guest who has flown in to meet him: John Carter Cash, son of Johnny Cash. The two musicians chat and share stories, and John invites Vince to come visit him at the Cash Cabin recording studio in Tennessee.

The episode ends with Ellen thanking her guests and reminding her viewers to tune in again soon for more fun and entertainment.
