Ellen kicks off this episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show with a hilarious monologue that includes jokes about her recent trip to Hawaii and a special appearance by her alter ego, DJ Ell-E. She then welcomes her guest, Hayden Panettiere, to the stage.

Hayden, known for her roles on Heroes and Nashville, sits down with Ellen to talk about her new show, which is based on the novel and movie Five Feet Apart. Hayden plays Stella, a teenager with cystic fibrosis who falls in love with another patient at the hospital. Hayden describes how she prepared for the role by meeting with real-life patients with cystic fibrosis and how she hopes the show will raise awareness for the disease.

Ellen then surprises Hayden with a game of "Finish the Sentence," in which she is given a sentence stem and has to come up with an ending on the spot. The results are hilarious, with Hayden struggling to come up with answers to prompts like "My favorite fairytale is..." and "If I could have any superpower, it would be..."

Next, Hayden shares her love of karaoke and her go-to song, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. Ellen surprises her by bringing out a karaoke machine and challenging her to sing a few verses. Hayden rises to the occasion and belts out a pitch-perfect rendition of the classic ballad, earning cheers and applause from the audience.

Ellen then switches gears and asks Hayden about her involvement with Save the Whales, a charity she has been supporting since she was a child. Hayden talks about the importance of protecting the ocean and its inhabitants and shares some heartbreaking statistics about the effects of pollution and climate change on marine life.

To lighten the mood, Ellen challenges Hayden to a game of "Whale or Fail," in which she has to guess whether a given fact is true or false. The facts are all related to whales, and hilarity ensues as Hayden struggles to differentiate between real and made-up trivia.

For the final segment, Hayden and Ellen participate in a game of "Act It Out," in which they are given a series of prompts and have to act out the actions listed. The game leads to some laugh-out-loud moments as Ellen and Hayden do their best to interpret some tricky prompts.

Throughout the episode, Hayden shows off her quick wit, infectious energy, and impressive acting and singing skills. Ellen keeps the audience and her guest entertained with her signature humor and playful spirit. Overall, the episode is a joyful and lively showcase of two talented women enjoying each other's company and connecting with the audience.
