The Emperor's New School is an animated television show that aired in the United States between 2006 and 2008. The show lasted 2 full seasons. Walt Disney Television Animation produces the show, where each episode follows the adventures of a young emperor named Kuzco. The goal of Kuzco is for him to finish up his education so that he can get back to being the emperor. However, there are many obstacles in his way including his rivals and his own laziness. The shows features voice-over work from J.P. Manoux, Jessica DeCicco, Fred Tatasciore, John Goodman, Wendie Malick, Jessie Flower, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton. Additionally, the show provides guest roles for Miley Cyrus, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Joey Lawrence. The series opens up by establishing what Kuzco must do to return to his role as emperor. Then we are introduced to Yzma. Yzma, voiced by Eartha Kitt, is out to prevent Kuzco from graduating. She is also Kuzco's biggest rival, and has been for a long time. The first episode then presents Kuzco with his first challenge against his biggest rival. Kuzco has to beat Yzma in a race, or else he fails the class. As Kuzco attempts to carefully make his way through school, he meets new friends and new enemies. Along the journey to graduation, Kuzco will find love and form close bonds with his new friends. However, it is important for him to remain focused. Otherwise, his biggest threat, Yzma, will get the better of him. If that happens he will never return to the throne. Each episode runs for 22 minutes, and each episode usually features one to two separate stories. From season 1 to season 2, a lot of the characters are voiced by different actors. For example, John Goodman replaced Fred Tatasciore in the second season.

Take My Advice: When Yzma undergoes a job review for her job as royal adviser, she is fired for not giving Kuzco any advice. But when Yzma's replacement turns out to be worse than Yzma ever was, Kuzco tries his best to find a way to hire Yzma again.

Guaca immediately takes over the palace and starts to treat even Kuzco unfairly. Yzma decides to take advantage of this and trick him into hiring her as his adviser, however none of her old tricks work on Guaca due to his obsession with Kuzco. Then he demands that Malina become his empress or he will build a store over her house. Kuzco and Malina then decide to seek out a special chalice that will reveal the true heir to the throne.

Kuzco then convinces Yata to bid for him to make Malina jealous. Then the four just happen to end up at the same restaurant for their dates, which turns the jealousy fest into an all out battle.

When Yzma gives Kronk the assignment of disintegrating Kuzco, Kronk consults his shoulder angel and devil. However, the two of them get into another fight and Kronk tells them to go away. With those two gone, Kronk can no longer make decisions. Yzma then captures his shoulder angel in a cage, and gives the shoulder devil back to Kronk. This causes Kronk to agree with everything the devil says, which causes him to try and disintegrate Kuzco.

It is Malina's birthday, and she is having a extravagant ceremony called a Bloom Ball to celebrate. Kronk is going to give her a time travel watch, while Kuzco is going to give her pictures of him. Kronk warns Kuzco to not take over and make the party all about him, but that proves useless as he ends up ruining the party. In order to make things right, Kuzco decides to use Kronk's time-travel watch to go back in time and make things right. Meanwhile, Yzma has put a fly potion in the punch so Kuzco will transform into a fly and she can squash him.

Yzma's latest scheme to get rid of Kuzco is a little more simplistic then usual. She decides to just put him in a box and ship him away. When Kronk sets a trap for Kuzco, he also ends up capturing Malina, and shipping them to a deserted island. While Yzma decides to begin her palace remodeling, Kronk heads to the island to save Malina, and maybe Kuzco. In order to stop Kronk from rescuing Kuzco, Yzma heads to the island. Meanwhile, Malina ends up becoming an idol for the monkeys, who do anything she wants. Kuzco then gets them to worship him, but the two end up being sacrifices to their real idol, a giant monkey.

In a new attempt to name herself empress, Yzma declares that if the students cannot raise 5,000 Kuzcoins in two days that The Academy will have to be torn down because of the money problems it is facing. Malina immediately jumps into action and starts thinking of ways to raise the money, and finally comes to the conclusion that the best idea will be to put on a school musical. She gets even more excited about this idea when she learns that they will be able to get teen heart-throb Dirk Brock to perform at their musical. But with Kuzco and Yzma causing conflict because they both want to be the star, everyone starts to worry that they might not be able to save the school after all.

Yzma's latest scheme to rule the empire includes turning Kuzco into a puma. She plans to slip the puma potion into Kuzco's Meat Mug since that is the only thing he will eat. However, Kronk refuses to tamper with the recipe, so Yzma breaks into Mudka's and steals the recipe. When Kronk finds out, he and Kuzco head for Major Mudka's hut to get back the secret recipe. At the same time, Kronk and Yata try to get Kuzco to eat healthier.

Card Wars: Kuzco can't seem to get caught up with the newest, coolest game fads and after trading a valuable game card to Kronk without knowing of its value, he tries to figure out some way to get it back.

But Kuzco doesn't appear to be up to pulling any pranks this year when he is adamant about seeing a giant scary moon beast and is terrified out of his mind. Aww, Nuts!: After Kuzco places the blame for ruining a feast on Bucky the squirrel, the town decides to have a new day where they will hunt squirrels and then ship them off to far away towns to get rid of them. But when Yzma hears of this, she sees the perfect way to get rid of Kuzco for once and for all by turning him into a squirrel and getting him shipped off for good.
