The Five is a thrilling TV drama series that aired on Sky1 in 2016. The show is created by acclaimed mystery writer Harlan Coben and stars O-T Fagbenle, Tom Cullen, and Hannah Arterton in lead roles. The story of The Five revolves around four childhood friends Mark (Tom Cullen), Danny (O-T Fagbenle), Pru (Sarah Solemani), and Slade (Lee Ingleby), who reunite after years of being apart. The friends' reunion is triggered by the discovery of DNA evidence at a crime scene which matches that of Jesse, Mark's younger brother, who had gone missing years ago while under the friends' care.

As Mark and Danny join forces with their old friends Pru and Slade to find Jesse, they quickly realize that their past actions have caught up with them, and the search for Jesse becomes a dangerous journey filled with secrets and lies.

Throughout the series, the audience is taken on a captivating rollercoaster ride of emotions, as the friends' lives are slowly revealed, and the truth about Jesse's disappearance begins to unravel.

The cast does an excellent job of portraying the complex characters and their relationships with each other. Tom Cullen delivers a powerful performance as Mark, the guilt-ridden elder brother, who has been haunted by his brother's disappearance for years. O-T Fagbenle also shines as Danny, the rebellious and impulsive friend who struggles to leave his troubled past behind.

Hannah Arterton's character, Jess, adds a new dimension to the series as she tries to help the friends find Jesse while dealing with her own personal problems. Sarah Solemani and Lee Ingleby also give notable performances as friends Pru and Slade, who try to balance their loyalty to the group while coming to terms with their past mistakes.

The Five is a well-written and tightly plotted series that keeps the audience gripped from start to finish. Coben's signature style of suspense and mystery is evident throughout the series, and there are enough twists and turns to keep the audience guessing until the end.

The series also tackles themes such as friendship, loyalty, guilt, and redemption, and how our past actions can impact our present and future. The characters' journeys of self-discovery make the series relatable and add depth to the story.

The show's director, Mark Tonderai, also deserves credit for the stunning cinematography, which captures the bleak and dark underbelly of London, where the story is set. The use of flashbacks and vivid imagery adds to the tension and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Overall, The Five is a must-watch series for fans of mystery and suspense. With a talented cast, excellent direction, and a well-crafted plot, the series delivers on all fronts and will leave you wanting more.
