Gracie Goes to a Psychiatrist is the first episode of the second season of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. In this episode, Gracie becomes convinced that she is crazy and decides to seek the help of a psychiatrist.

The episode begins with Gracie worrying that she might be going crazy. She is extremely forgetful and is having trouble keeping track of her thoughts. She tells George about her concerns, but he is dismissive and tells her that she's just being her usual scatterbrained self. However, Gracie is determined to get to the bottom of what's going on with her.

Gracie's friend, Blanche, suggests that she see a psychiatrist. At first, Gracie is hesitant, but she eventually decides to go. However, she is too embarrassed to admit to the psychiatrist that she thinks she might be crazy, so she invents a story about having a difficult time adjusting to her new life in Beverly Hills.

The psychiatrist, played by character actor Addison Richards, listens patiently as Gracie tells him about her problems. However, he becomes increasingly confused as she describes her strange behavior, such as buying 47 hats in one day and forgetting to put the gas cap back on her car.

Meanwhile, George is trying to figure out what's going on with Gracie. He enlists the help of their housekeeper, Mrs. Sohmers, and together they try to decipher Gracie's strange behavior. They come up with a theory that Gracie is trying to win a prize for being the most forgetful person in America.

Back at the psychiatrist's office, Gracie continues to babble on about her problems. She becomes convinced that the psychiatrist is in love with her and starts flirting with him, much to his confusion. Eventually, the psychiatrist realizes that Gracie might not be the one with the problem and suggests that George come in for a session.

When George arrives, the psychiatrist quickly realizes that he is the one with the problem. George has been so intent on trying to figure out what's going on with Gracie that he's neglecting his own responsibilities. The psychiatrist suggests that George stop worrying about Gracie and start taking care of himself for a change.

In the end, Gracie and George reconcile and everything goes back to normal. Gracie realizes that she's not crazy after all and that she just needs to slow down and take things one step at a time. George learns that he needs to take care of himself and not let his worries consume him.

Overall, Gracie Goes to a Psychiatrist is a lighthearted comedy that explores the sometimes absurd nature of human behavior. With its witty dialogue and charming characters, it's a show that's sure to put a smile on your face.
