The game follows the protagonist, Link, who awakens after a hundred-year slumber to a mysterious voice that guides him to defeat Calamity Ganon, an evil force that has taken over Hyrule. Link is nearly finished gathering all of his lost memories. Once he has done that, there will be only one task left to fulfill; pull the Master Sword from the ground, and destroy Ganon!

35. Where It All Began

After finding the last two remaining regions and completing the entire map of Hyrule, Link turns his full attention to finding the rest of his lost memories. He gets a vivid glimpse of the past and how it shaped the course of history.

34. Faron and Lake

In his search for more Spirit Orbs, Link decides to search for the last two remaining towers to complete the map of Hyrule, which brings him to the Faron and Lake regions. He also begins searching for the rest of his lost memories.

As Link prepares for his attack on Ganon, he must first travel to the Lost Woods in the Woodland region in order to retrieve the blade that seals the darkness; the legendary Master Sword. The Lost Woods are very deceptive, and Link will need to solve the riddle in order to get to the other side.

After defeating Thunderblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Naboris from Ganon's control, as well as Urbosa's spirit, Link checks back in Riju. With all four Divine Beasts free, it's now time to plan the unified attack on Ganon!

28. Urbosa, the Fallen Gerudo Champion

October 1, 2019

After defeating the Yiga Clan and retrieving the Thunder Helm, Link returns to Gerudo Town. He then remembers Urbosa, the fallen Gerudo champion who controlled Divine Beast Vah Naboris. With the helmet, Riju is able to help protect Link from the lightning strikes while he attempts to weaken the beast.

27. Yiga Clan Hideout

October 1, 2019

After meeting with Lady Riju, chief of Gerudo Town, she tasks Link with retrieving a stolen possession; the Thunder Helm. The Yiga Clan is responsible, and Link must venture into their hideout and defeat the clan if he hopes to get it back. If he can retrieve the Thunder Helm, Riju will help Link board Divine Beast Vah Naboris.

On his way to the next Divine Beast, Link discovers that men are not allowed into Gerudo Town. With this information, Link gets a tip that he may be able to get a disguise from someone.

25. Wasteland

Link discovers the Wasteland region, which appears to be region with the final Divine Beast. Link will need to make his way down the cliffside and into the desert, but may encounter some new monsters along the way.

24. Saving Rito Village

October 1, 2019

After defeating Windblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Medoh from Ganon's control, as well as Revali's spirit, Link checks back in with the village elder, Kaneli. Link then heads in the direction of the final Divine Beast.

23. Divine Beast Vah Medoh

October 1, 2019

After Teba is able to help Link stay airborne long enough to use the bomb arrows to weaken Vah Medoh, Link boards the beast. As always, Link will have to activate the five terminals to regain control of the beast, and will need to defeat the monster that defeated Revali.

22. Revali, the Fallen Rito Champion

October 1, 2019

Link finds the next Divine Beast, Van Medoh, who is flying above the Rito Village. Link meets the elder Rito, Kaneli, who instructs Link to find Teba; a Rito warrior who can assist him in boarding the beast. He then remembers Revali, the fallen Rito champion, who controlled Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

On the way to the next Divine Beast, Link finds another one of his memories of Zelda, further detailing their history together. Link also discovers to the Tabantha region, which appears to be the area with the third Divine Beast.

20. Ridgeland

Link decides to explore the outskirts of the post-apocalyptic Hyrule Castle, where he encounters many guardian enemies, in search of a memory. On his continued path towards the next Divine Beast, he discovers the Ridgeland region.

19. Central Hyrule

After the recovery of one of his past memories, Link checks back in with Impa, where she awards him with the Champion's Tunic. Link then heads back in the direction of the next Divine Beast, where he finds the Central Hyrule tower, which is heavily guarded by guardians.

18. Saving Goron City

October 1, 2019

After defeating Fireblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Rudania from Ganon's control, as well as Daruk's spirit, Link checks back in with the boss of Goron City and the Goron people. Link then starts heading towards the next Divine Beast, while also completing some new shrines.

After Link and Yunobo are able to weaken Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Link is able to board the beast. Just like before, Link will need to activate all five terminals in order to start the main control unit to regain control of the beast. And just like before, Link will need to defeat the monster that defeated Daruk.

With the Goron boss unable to aid Yunobo in slowing down Divine Beast Rudania, Link takes his place. They'll need to fire cannons at Vah Rudania in order to force him into the center of Death Mountain. With Yunobo being able to use Daruk's protection ability, it just might do the trick.

As Link makes his way to Goron City, right below where the next Divine Beast is, he must first travel to the Southern Mine to obtain heat protective armor. He then needs to find Yunobo, a descendant of the fallen Goron champion, Daruk, who controlled the Divine Beast Vah Rudania.

October 1, 2019

Link is heading for the second Divine Beast, which leads him to the Eldin region. Eldin is located right next to Death Mountain, so Link will need to figure out how to protect himself from the intense heat as he journeys closer to the mountain.

13. Saving Zora's Domain

October 1, 2019

After defeating Waterblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Ruta from Ganon's control, as well as Mipha's spirit, Link checks back in with King Dorephan and the Zora people. Link then heads towards the next Divine Beast, but not before the Blood Moon rises; a rare event that brings all of Ganon's creatures back to life.

12. Divine Beast Vah Ruta

With the defeat of the Lynel beast, it's now time to gather the shock arrows and take on the Divine Beast Vah Ruta! Once aboard, Link will have to activate the five terminals throughout the beast in order to start the main control unit to regain control of the beast. In order to fully regain control though, Link will have to defeat the monster that defeated Mipha.

11. Mipha, the Fallen Zora Champion

After speaking with King Dorephan at length about the plan going forward, he awards Link with the Zora armor, which allows him to swim up waterfalls. He then remembers his time with Mipha, the fallen Zora champion, who controlled the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Link must acquire shock arrows from the top of the mountain in order to board the beast, but there's another beast awaiting his arrival.

After agreeing to help Prince Sidon help take back control of Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Link must make his way up the mountain. He finally reaches the Zora's Domain, where he speaks to King Dorephan about what the best course of action is.

As Link makes his way through the Lanayru region, he runs into Sidon, the prince of the Zora's. Sidon informs Link that the Divine Beast Vah Ruta has been causing heavy rainfall that threatens to flood all of Hyrule, and that he needs a Hylian's help. Link is more than happy to help!

Now that Link has the ability to recapture his lost memories if he visits the right place, it's now time to move on to the main objective; freeing the Divine Beasts from Ganon's control. The direction of the first Divine Beast will take Link to the Lanayru region, where he will find some of the Zora people.

Now that Link has arrived in Hateno Village, he meets up with Purah, the director of the Ancient Hateno Tech Laboratory. If Link can use the blue flame to light the furnace for the lab, then Purah can help Link acquire the camera rune. This is important, as it contains Link's last memories of his time with Zelda.

After speaking with Impa and being given orders to free the four the divine beasts, Link must first travel to Hateno Village in order to meet with a scientist who can possibly help him complete the Shiekah Slate.

After battling his way through the Dueling Peaks region, Link finally arrives at Kakariko Village, where Lady Impa awaits him. She informs him of what has taken place since he lost his memory, and gives him a new quest; free the four Divine Beasts!

4. Dueling Peaks

After receiving the paraglider from King Rhoam, he gives Link a quest to carry out; defeat Calamity Ganon and rescue Princess Zelda! Link must first make his way to Kakariko Village, and through the Dueling Peaks region, which is swarming with all kinds of enemies.

3. The Last King of Hyrule

After completing each of the four shrine trials on the Great Plateau Tower, Link discovers the mysterious old man is none other than the fallen king of Hyrule, King Rhoam; Princess Zelda's father. He tells the tale of the day the kingdom of Hyrule fell to Calamity Ganon.

With the promise of a paraglider from the mysterious old man, Link must first obtain treasure from each of the remaining three shrines on the Great Plateau. Link will need the paraglider if he expects to make it off the plateau.
