With the helmet, Riju is able to help protect Link from the lightning strikes while he attempts to weaken the beast.

After meeting with Lady Riju, chief of Gerudo Town, she tasks Link with retrieving a stolen possession; the Thunder Helm. The Yiga Clan is responsible, and Link must venture into their hideout and defeat the clan if he hopes to get it back. If he can retrieve the Thunder Helm, Riju will help Link board Divine Beast Vah Naboris.

After defeating Fireblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Rudania from Ganon's control, as well as Daruk's spirit, Link checks back in with the boss of Goron City and the Goron people. Link then starts heading towards the next Divine Beast, while also completing some new shrines.

As Link makes his way to Goron City, right below where the next Divine Beast is, he must first travel to the Southern Mine to obtain heat protective armor. He then needs to find Yunobo, a descendant of the fallen Goron champion, Daruk, who controlled the Divine Beast Vah Rudania.

Link is heading for the second Divine Beast, which leads him to the Eldin region. Eldin is located right next to Death Mountain, so Link will need to figure out how to protect himself from the intense heat as he journeys closer to the mountain.

After defeating Waterblight Ganon and freeing Divine Beast Vah Ruta from Ganon's control, as well as Mipha's spirit, Link checks back in with King Dorephan and the Zora people. Link then heads towards the next Divine Beast, but not before the Blood Moon rises; a rare event that brings all of Ganon's creatures back to life.

With the defeat of the Lynel beast, it's now time to gather the shock arrows and take on the Divine Beast Vah Ruta! Once aboard, Link will have to activate the five terminals throughout the beast in order to start the main control unit to regain control of the beast. In order to fully regain control though, Link will have to defeat the monster that defeated Mipha.

After speaking with King Dorephan at length about the plan going forward, he awards Link with the Zora armor, which allows him to swim up waterfalls. He then remembers his time with Mipha, the fallen Zora champion, who controlled the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Link must acquire shock arrows from the top of the mountain in order to board the beast, but there's another beast awaiting his arrival.

After agreeing to help Prince Sidon help take back control of Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Link must make his way up the mountain. He finally reaches the Zora's Domain, where he speaks to King Dorephan about what the best course of action is.

Now that Link has the ability to recapture his lost memories if he visits the right place, it's now time to move on to the main objective; freeing the Divine Beasts from Ganon's control. The direction of the first Divine Beast will take Link to the Lanayru region, where he will find some of the Zora people.

Now that Link has arrived in Hateno Village, he meets up with Purah, the director of the Ancient Hateno Tech Laboratory. If Link can use the blue flame to light the furnace for the lab, then Purah can help Link acquire the camera rune. This is important, as it contains Link's last memories of his time with Zelda.
