10. True love

November 25, 2016

Steffi is rushed to the hospital, but dies several hours later. Her dead strengthens the determination of Milo and Steffi's brothers to take revenge on Lex. The witness protection office discover Steffi visited her family and suspend Lex from the program. When Lex tries to flee the country with his kids, Eva convinces him otherwise.

9. The plot thickens

Lex falls for the charms of Eva, who sees her dream of a new family within reach. Peter decides to forget Eva and move on with his therapist, but learns Sjors hasn't returned from his trial leave. Steffi involuntarily meets Milo and her brothers, who want to get even with Lex. Due to an unfortunate concurrence of circumstances, everything cumulates in a terrible accident in the garage.

Steffi runs off, but is terrified Milo will track her down. Out of guilt she keeps Lex at a distance, and Eva uses this space to make advances. From her conversations with Steffi she knows exactly what he's been missing; sex.

After the not-so-successful surprise weekend, Lex devotes himself to his work at the garage. During his absence garage owner Sal was molested by the crooks from the street race. Lex feels guilty and responsible. Sal will never be able to work again and asks Lex to take over the garage. Steffi confides in Eva about their past; they are in a witness protection program.

Lex takes Steffi on a surprise weekend, while Eva takes care of the kids at their home. It's time to revive their marriage. While babysitting Eva acts like she's their new mom. Sem tells Max that Eva had something to do with his mom's death. When Max tries to warn Steffi, she doesn't want to hear about this neighborhood gossiping.

4. Memory lane

Steef asks his old cellmate Carl to keep an eye on his son, so Carl starts dating neighbor and new widow Lilly. Steef learns Eva didn't die and is back in the neighborhood. Eva's plan to penetrate the life of Steffi and Lex is making progress. Some shady characters turn up at the garage where Lex works., they want him to enter an illegal street race for them.

3. Missing

After holding baby girl Roos, Eva finds her desire for a child is as strong as it ever was and volunteers to babysit. Lex doesn't trust Eva, but when she finds their missing son and his friend, she gains his trust and becomes the regular babysitter. Steef tries to flee the country with his son Sem, but their meet-up fails and Steef has to leave without him.

It's a miracle; Eva is revalidating, but suffering from memory loss. Back in the neighborhood she meets her new neighbors, Steffi and Lex and their kids Max & Roos. Peter spots Eva during a supervised trial leave. He can't believe she woke up from her coma. Eva doesn't have a clue, she can't remember her husband Peter.

1. Zonnewijk revisited

Steef escapes from prison. He wants to get his son and flee to Eastern Europe, but first he needs to get even with Eva, who he holds responsible for Rebecca's death. At the hospital he shuts down Eva's coronary care. But instead of killing her as he intends to, Eva regains consciousness. In the meantime, new neighbors move into Steef and Rebecca's former house.
