Tony has been struggling to keep his family and organization under control in recent episodes of The Sopranos, and in Walk Like a Man (Season 4, Episode 17), his troubles continue to mount. The episode begins with Tony's protege, Christopher, holding a drug-fueled party at his apartment. Tony arrives to try to talk some sense into him, but things quickly escalate into an argument. Christopher accuses Tony of being jealous of his success as a writer and storms out of the apartment.
Meanwhile, Tony's son AJ is going through his own struggles. He's failing out of school and has been caught smoking pot. Tony, desperate to help his son get his life on track, decides to take him under his wing and teach him the ropes of the family business. But as he tries to get AJ to take an interest in his work, he begins to question whether he's setting a good example for his son.
At the same time, Tony's wife Carmela is dealing with her own issues. She begins to question her relationship with Tony and wonders whether she still loves him. She confides in her therapist, who advises her to take some time for herself and figure out what she really wants.
As the episode progresses, tensions continue to mount within Tony's organization. His top lieutenant, Paulie, is jealous of the attention Tony is giving to Christopher and begins to undermine him behind his back. Meanwhile, Tony's dealings with the New York mafia and the Russian mob come to a head, and he finds himself caught in the middle of a power struggle.
The episode ends with Tony and AJ having a heart-to-heart conversation about their lives and their relationships. Tony admits that he's made mistakes in his life and encourages AJ to learn from them and take a different path. It's a touching moment between father and son, but it's clear that the challenges facing Tony and his family are far from over.
