  • April 3, 2018

In the thirteenth episode of season 14 of The Voice, the Knockouts Premiere continue with Part 2. The coaches, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys, and Kelly Clarkson, have their teams set and are now pitting two of their own team members against each other for a knockout-style battle. The contestants will perform individual songs of their choice, each showcasing their unique talents, and the coaches will then choose which one will move on to the next round.

The episode begins with a montage of previous performances, showing highlights of the blind auditions, the battle rounds, and the first part of the knockouts. Then, the coaches take their seats in their iconic red chairs and explain how the knockouts work. They will choose two of their own team members to face off, and each will perform a song of their choice. After the performances, the coach will choose which one they want to keep on their team and which one is eliminated.

The first knockout battle features two members from Team Adam. Drew Cole and Mia Boostrom take the stage to perform "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan. Drew starts the performance with his signature raspy voice before Mia comes in with her powerful vocals. They both showcase their unique styles throughout the song, leaving the coaches with a tough decision. Adam ultimately chooses to keep Drew on his team.

Next up is a knockout battle between two members from Team Alicia. Britton Buchanan and Dallas Caroline perform "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. Britton showcases his rockstar voice while Dallas shines with her country twang. Alicia ultimately chooses to keep Britton on her team, impressing the other coaches with her decision.

Team Kelly's Kaleb Lee and Dylan Hartigan are up next with a performance of "You Are The Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne. Kaleb's country voice and Dylan's pop sound make for an interesting combination. Kelly ultimately chooses to keep Kaleb on her team, leaving Dylan to be eliminated.

The final knockout battle of the episode is between Team Blake's Kyla Jade and JessLee. They perform "One Last Time" by Ariana Grande, showing off their powerful vocals and range. Blake ultimately chooses to keep Kyla on his team, leaving JessLee to be sent home.

As the episode comes to a close, the coaches discuss the tough decisions they had to make during the knockouts and how they are preparing their teams for the next round. The Knockouts will continue in the next episode as the remaining team members face off against each other for a chance to move on to the live shows.
