The Way of the Househusband Season 1 Episode 5 Episode 5
- April 8, 2021
Ryohei Alice, also known as the Immortal Tatsu, is back with another episode of his hilarious life as a househusband. Episode 5 sees Tatsu attempting to master the art of grocery shopping, a task that proves to be more challenging than he anticipated. The episode starts with Tatsu and his wife Miku running out of pantry staples and fresh produce. Miku tasks Tatsu with taking charge of grocery shopping while she works from home. Delighted at the idea of taking on a new challenge, Tatsu jumps at the opportunity.
Tatsu's first stop is at a fruit stall, where his attention is drawn to a man who looks like a delinquent. Seeing him picking out fruits, Tatsu gets wary and decides to keep his distance. However, the moment he makes eye contact with the man, Tatsu quickly discovers he's none other than his old rival from the yakuza days, Masa. The two have a moment of intense staring, giving viewers a glimpse into their tense history. But the moment is short-lived, and they quickly go their separate ways.
Feeling confident after the meeting with his rival, Tatsu marches into the grocery store, ready to conquer his shopping list. The first item on his list is eggs, which he quickly locates. However, he finds himself in a dilemma when he can't decide which carton to buy. Tatsu decides to test the egg's freshness by shaking each carton, causing the store clerk to get suspicious. Despite his best attempts to explain his actions, the clerk accuses him of shoplifting. Tatsu attempts to flee, causing chaos in the store that ends in a dramatic chase sequence.
The scene shifts to Tatsu getting lost in the store while looking for rice. Amidst his struggle to locate the rice aisle, he overhears a frantic mother trying to locate her missing child. Seeing an opportunity to show off his badassery, Tatsu sprints through the store, determined to find the missing child. The scene is reminiscent of an action movie, complete with slow-motion sequences and background music. Tatsu's antics eventually lead him to the child who had wandered into the snack aisle.
The last item on Tatsu's list is bread, which proves to be an intense challenge. Feeling the pressure of his previous mishaps, Tatsu frantically searches for bread. The store's lack of signage and the variety of bread available confuses him, and he becomes disoriented. His wandering eventually leads him face to face with one of his old yakuza comrades, who now works at the bakery. Embarrassed at being caught without bread and fearful of being judged, Tatsu decides to make his own bread.
The episode concludes with Tatsu successfully baking his bread, feeling accomplished and proud of himself. However, his sense of achievement is short-lived when Miku comes home and reveals she only wanted one loaf of bread, and Tatsu made ten. The episode ends with Tatsu sitting in his kitchen, surrounded by loaves of bread and clothespins with a defeated look on his face.
Overall, Episode 5 of The Way of the Househusband is a delightful and entertaining show that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The episode's humorous and action-packed sequences are a treat to watch and provide a refreshing break from everyday life. With each episode, Tatsu's character continues to grow, and viewers are left eagerly waiting for the next one to drop.
