In Tokyo Revengers season 1 episode 3, titled "Resolve," we see Takemichi continuing his mission to save Hinata. As he learns more about the Tokyo Manji Gang, he realizes that they are planning something big and dangerous. He is desperate to find a way to stop them and save his ex-girlfriend's life.
The episode starts with Takemichi still in shock after witnessing the brutal murder of his friend and fellow gang member, Keisuke. As he mourns their loss, he becomes more determined to stop the gang from causing any more harm. He asks his friend Naoto, who is a police detective, to help him investigate the gang's plans.
Naoto tells Takemichi that the Tokyo Manji Gang is planning to start a war with their rivals, the Moebius. He warns Takemichi that this is a dangerous time to be associated with the gang and urges him to stay away. However, Takemichi is determined to save Hinata and he can't do that without getting involved.
Takemichi decides to confront the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Mikey, and ask him to spare Hinata's life. He goes to the gang's headquarters and finds Mikey surrounded by his loyal subordinates. Mikey is initially dismissive of Takemichi and his request, but as they talk, he starts to see that Takemichi has genuine concern for Hinata's safety.
Mikey tells Takemichi that he can't just spare Hinata's life without consequence, as it would make him look weak to the rest of the gang. However, he tells Takemichi that if he can win a fight against one of his subordinates, he will consider sparing Hinata. Takemichi agrees to this challenge, even though he has no fighting experience and is completely out of his element.
The fight scene is intense and gripping, as Takemichi struggles to hold his own against the experienced fighter. The animation is superb, with the fight choreography and visual effects creating a sense of tension and urgency. The fight ends in an unexpected way, leaving Takemichi with a newfound sense of respect from Mikey and his subordinates.
After the fight, Mikey agrees to spare Hinata's life as a sign of respect for Takemichi's determination and courage. He warns Takemichi, however, that he still needs to stay away from the gang during their planned war with the Moebius. Takemichi leaves feeling both relieved and terrified, knowing that he has just stepped deeper into a dangerous world.
The episode ends with Takemichi reflecting on his experience and realizing that he has a newfound sense of purpose. He is no longer content to sit back and watch as his life falls apart around him. He knows that he has to do whatever it takes to protect the people he cares about, even if it means risking his own life.
Overall, "Resolve" is a powerful and gripping episode that showcases the show's strengths in storytelling, animation, and character development. We see Takemichi's character grow and evolve as he faces new challenges and discovers the depths of his own courage and determination. We also get a glimpse into the dangerous and unpredictable world of the Tokyo Manji Gang, which sets the stage for even more thrilling adventures to come.
