In one of the episodes L.A. decides to start taking hormones, and consults a doctor about the risk involved. In another episode one of the women is stood up on a date and another decides to have surgery. All the while the women deal with issues such as perceptions but the general public.
However, the show is more than just being about transgender. The five women also show a strong bond of friendship along with dealing with life's challenges as anyone would. This would include family, dating and being in debt. Transcendent gives a closer look at life as a transgender and just what it means to actually be transgender, by taking a closer look at five individuals for six episodes.
