Ep 8. Providence

In "Providence," the eighth episode of season 2 of TURN: Washington's Spies, the rebellious Culper Ring is tasked with arranging a purchase of black powder to aid their cause in the fight for independence. However, unforeseen complications arise as their contact, Captain Joyce, is revealed to be less trustworthy than expected. Meanwhile, Major Hewlett's past comes back to haunt him in the form of a demanding love interest who threatens to expose his true identity.

As tensions continue to rise between the Patriots and Loyalists, Ben Tallmadge and Caleb Brewster devise a plan to manipulate Joyce into providing them with the necessary black powder. However, Joyce proves to be a difficult foe, causing them to question their methods and the loyalty of those around them.

At the same time, Major Hewlett struggles to keep his true identity a secret from the increasingly suspicious townspeople of Setauket. His attempts to integrate with the community are further complicated by the arrival of a former love interest, whose demands for his attention put both his cover and his relationship with Anna Strong in jeopardy.

Throughout "Providence," the characters of TURN: Washington's Spies are forced to confront the consequences of their actions and the true nature of their allegiances. With the stakes higher than ever before, alliances are tested and lines are drawn, setting the stage for an explosive finale to the season.
