Ep 9. Arbitrary Law

Cooper and Truman are trying to clear their selves from drug trafficking charges. They investigate Windom Earle's past and try to catch him. Leo is trapped by Windom Earle and Major Briggs is captured by their gang. Donna reaches the conclusion that Harold Smith was Laura Palmer's secret lover and goes to his house in order to try to find Laura's secret diary. Meanwhile, Catherine Martell and Andrew Packard finally get their hands on Thomas Eckhardt's masked box, but they do not know that Eckhardt himself has arrived in Twin Peaks. Across town, Nadine wakes up from her coma, believing she is still in high school and thinking that she is engaged to Mike Nelson. Shelly and Bobby arrange an appointment with the food critic M.T. Wentz to try to save the reputation of the Double R Diner, but things do not go smoothly. The One-Armed Man returns to the lodge and tells Cooper that the evil he has been fighting is called Jowday and he must find it before it finds him. The episode ends with Cooper and Truman receiving a call, informing them that Eckhardt is dead.
