Ep 5. Step Up and be a Dad

In this episode of Unexpected season 2, titled "Step Up and be a Dad," we continue to follow three teenage couples as they navigate the challenges of unexpected pregnancy and parenthood.

Lexus and Shayden are struggling to balance their schoolwork with taking care of their infant daughter, Scarlett. Shayden is feeling the pressure to provide for his family, but he keeps getting fired from his jobs. Lexus is frustrated with Shayden's lack of motivation and wishes he would step up and take responsibility.

Meanwhile, McKayla is dealing with her own set of issues. Her boyfriend, Caelan, has gone MIA and she has no idea where he is or when he'll come back. Overwhelmed by being a single teenage mom, she turns to her mom for help.

And finally, Chloe and Max are preparing for their baby's gender reveal party. Chloe's mom is insisting on throwing the party and Chloe is worried that it will be over the top and tacky. Max is trying to be supportive, but he's starting to feel the stress of impending fatherhood.

As the episode unfolds, we see each couple face new challenges and make difficult decisions. Lexus and Shayden finally have a heart-to-heart and make a plan for Shayden to find steady employment. McKayla decides to track down Caelan and finally gets in touch with him. And Chloe's fears about the gender reveal party come true when her mom goes all out with a giant balloon drop and a cake with blue and pink layers.

Through it all, we see the teens struggle with the realities of parenthood and try to find their way as new parents. They have their ups and downs, but they're determined to do what's best for their babies and for each other.
