It is 1848, and Queen Victoria is at a crossroads. As she begins her third season, Victoria knows that she has to make a difficult choice. She is faced with the question of whether or not to allow Chartism, a political movement that advocates for greater rights for working-class people, to gain a foothold in British society.

Elsewhere, Victoria and Albert are grappling with the challenges of being new parents. They are both deeply devoted to their children, but they are also struggling with the immense responsibility that comes with being the monarchs of one of the most powerful countries in the world. As if that wasn't enough, Victoria is also dealing with a difficult and deeply personal medical issue.

In the midst of all of this, Victoria is also trying to navigate her complicated relationships with those around her. Her friendship with Lord Melbourne, her former prime minister and close confidante, has become strained, and she is struggling to find common ground with her new prime minister, Lord John Russell. Meanwhile, her sister Feodora is causing tension both within the royal family and with her own husband back in Germany.

As the episode unfolds, Victoria is forced to confront the reality of her own limitations. She is torn between her duty as queen and her desire to be a good mother and partner. She is faced with choices that will have far-reaching consequences for herself, her family, and her country.

At its heart, "Uneasy Lies the Head that Wears the Crown" is a meditation on the challenges of leadership. We see the ways in which Victoria struggles to balance the needs of her people with her own desires and concerns. We see how the weight of responsibility can crush even the most powerful of rulers. And we see how the choices that leaders make can have profound and lasting impacts on the world around them.

Throughout it all, the show remains a visual feast. The costumes, sets, and locations are all stunning, and the attention to detail is second to none. But what truly sets "Victoria" apart is its nuanced and complex depiction of its titular character. Jenna Coleman's performance is captivating, and she brings depth and humanity to a woman who is often remembered only as a stern and distant figure.

In short, "Uneasy Lies the Head that Wears the Crown" is an excellent start to the new season of "Victoria." It is a thoughtful and engaging exploration of the challenges of leadership, and it sets up what promises to be an exciting and emotionally resonant season ahead.
