As Queen Victoria struggles with postpartum depression, she must also navigate the intricacies of foreign diplomacy in this episode entitled "Foreign Bodies." With tensions high between England and France, Victoria is tasked with hosting a French royal family member who is seeking political asylum. As she attempts to balance royal hospitality with her own political beliefs, the Queen is forced to confront her insecurities and mental health issues head-on.

Meanwhile, Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, is consumed with his new role as the head of the Great Exhibition committee. His obsession with the project strains his relationship with Victoria, who feels neglected and pushed aside in favor of his work. As the two struggle to find common ground, tensions rise between them.

As if these issues weren't enough, Victoria is also forced to deal with the arrival of Baby Bertie's wet nurse, who is vehemently opposed to vaccinating the young prince. With the measles epidemic spreading throughout London, Victoria must decide whether to stand by the nurse's beliefs or override them in favor of her son's health.

Throughout the episode, the Queen's close confidante, Lord Melbourne, tries to offer support and guidance, but his own health issues and personal struggles threaten to undermine his role as her trusted advisor. As the pressures of political diplomacy, family dynamics, and mental health take their toll on the monarch, Victoria must find a way to remain strong and steadfast in the face of adversity.
