Hitomi, Allen, and Van find themselves in an unfamiliar place, which they later learn is the ruins of a once-great civilization. In their search for the power source that brought them there, they encounter a group of beings with unusual abilities, including a woman named Marlene who has the power to manipulate gravity. As they explore the ruins, they uncover clues to the history of the people who once thrived there, as well as a potential threat to their own world.

Meanwhile, back on Gaea, Naria and Eriya attempt to kidnap Folken in order to force him to return to Zaibach. Dilandau, meanwhile, continues to wreak havoc on the population, using his mecha to destroy the land and terrorize the people. Amidst all this chaos, the crew of the Escaflowne must find a way to reunite and stop the multiple threats that are endangering the fate of two worlds.
