Wildest Africa season 2 kicks off with a thrilling episode titled "Nile: An African Odyssey." The episode takes viewers on an unparalleled wildlife adventure along the longest river in the world - Nile.

In this episode, viewers will experience the Nile River in a unique way, from its source to the vast delta where it merges with the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile River system is home to an array of fascinating wild animals, from riverine creatures like the hippopotamus, crocodile, and otter to the apex predators like the Nile monitor, African wild dog, and lion.

The journey starts at the source of the Nile River, located in the remote highlands of Ethiopia, where the river emerges from Lake Tana. The area is home to the endemic Gelada baboon, Walia Ibex, and the elusive Ethiopian wolf, which are all well adapted to the harsh mountainous environment.

As the episode progresses, we travel further downstream to the UNESCO world heritage site of the Blue Nile Falls, surrounded by lush green forests and teeming with numerous bird species like the Abyssinian ground hornbill and the Lammergeyer vulture.

Next, we head to the Sudd region in South Sudan, the largest freshwater wetland in Africa. It's a vast, swampy area that feeds the White Nile and is home to the spectacular migration of millions of white-eared kob and tiang antelopes. They are relentlessly chased by the Nile crocodile and the Nile monitor, the largest lizard in Africa.

Further downstream, we explore the ever-shrinking savannas of Uganda and Tanzania. Here, we encounter the Nile hippopotamus, the most dangerous animal in Africa, and the Nile crocodile, which can grow up to 20 feet in length. These aquatic predators are the kings of the river, preying on anything that comes in their territory.

Our final destination takes us to the Nile delta in Egypt, where the river meets the Mediterranean Sea. This region is known for its vibrant birdlife, where millions of wading birds converge during their annual migration. The delta is also home to the Egyptian mongoose, the Egyptian jackal, and the iconic Nile river horse, or hippopotamus.
